FOOD PRODUCTS EXPORT AIMED TO REACH 2 BILLION DOLLARS TO THE USA…

The United States, which is the world’s largest food importer with 160 billion dollars annually, whets the appetite of Turkish food exporters. Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EİB), aiming to increase the export of Turkish food products to the USA, promotes Turkish food products in the US market with the TURQUALITY Project supported by the Ministry of Trade.

There are 6 food associations within the body of EIB in the TURQUALITY Project. It is aimed to introduce Turkish food products to the USA for a period of 4 years.

The promotion of Turkish food products to the USA is carried out with Hybrid Tasting Events due to the pandemic.

The second Hybrid Tasting Event, started with seedless grapes, dried apricot and dried figs of which Turkey hits the top in the exports across the world, hosted by Las Vegas University Culinary Arts Department on Turkish aquaculture.

Stating that they plan to take the foreign trade volume to 100 billion dollars between Turkey and the USA, Turkish Exporters’ Assembly Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters’ Associations Industry Board Chairman Sinan Kızıltan said, “Turkey’s food products export to the USA reached 810 million from 710 million dollars with an increase of 14 percent in 2020.”

“We aim to increase this figure to 2 billion dollars and in order to achieve this goal, 6 food associations within the EİB joined forces and promoted Turkish food products in the US market with the TURQUALITY Project with the support of the Ministry of Trade,” Kızıltan added…
