Saving the heirloom seeds will be eligible for the grants…
Within the scope of the financial support programme of the Central Anatolia Development Agency (ORAN), a total of 15 million TL will be provided to the projects to be implemented for the development of agriculture and animal husbandry in the Kayseri, Sivas and Yozgat regions.
Projects aimed at uncovering and preserving ancestral seeds will also benefit primarily from this support.
ORAN Secretary General Ahmet Emin Kilci said, “We care about the development of heirloom (ancestry) seeds. There are thousands of local heirloom seeds in our country. Another priority is to reveal and not to lose them, to establish the necessary marketing networks for them, to establish production, packaging and meeting with farmers.”
