Muğla, Türkiye’s leader in aquaculture exports…
Muğla, the capital of aquaculture exports in Türkiye, is proud to exceed 1 billion dollars in 2022 for the first time in its history. While achieving its 2022 target, Muğla became the 22nd province in Türkiye to exceed the 1 billion dollar threshold.
Türkiye Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters’ Associations Sector Board Chairman Sinan Kızıltan stated that Muğla, which exported 16 million dollars in 2000, ramped up its exports to 93 million dollars in 2005, 220 million dollars in 2010, 342 million dollars in 2015 and 618 million dollars in 2020.
Noting that as Muğla, they achieved 804 million dollars in exports in 2021, Kızıltan said, “As Muğla, we set a target of 1 billion dollars at the beginning of 2022. We have achieved this goal, with only a few days left to enter 2023. Our aquaculture and animal products sector, which makes the biggest contribution to this export with 670 million dollars, became the champion of Turkey in 2022, as in previous years. We are experiencing double happiness as the industry.”
Sharing the information that Muğla exports to 125 countries in 2022, Kızıltan continued his words as follows: “While the Russian Federation is the country to which we export the most with 141.5 million dollars, Greece became the summit partner with 103 million dollars of exports. We exported 88 million dollars of products to the United States, which is in the third place of our list. These countries were followed by Israel with 67 million dollars and England with 61 million dollars.”
