Şemsettin Özgür, Vice Chairman of the Aegean Dried Fruit and Products Exporters Association, was unanimously elected as the Chairman of the Turkish Dried Fruit and Products Exporters Associations Sector Board.
The Turkish Dried Fruit Sector Board held its first meeting at the Aegean Exporters Associations (EIB).

While Şemsettin Özgür, Vice Chairman of the Aegean Dried Fruit and Products Exporters Association, was elected as the Chairman of the Turkish Dried Fruit and Products Exporters Associations Sector Board, Murat Bakır, Chairperson of the Southeastern Anatolia Dried Fruit and Products Exporters Association and Birol Celep, Board Member of the Aegean Dried Fruit and Products Exporters Association, were unanimously elected as Vice Chairmen.
“Our priorities are to improve promotion, quality and food safety”
Şemsettin Özgür, Chair of the Turkish Dried Fruit and Products Exporters’ Associations Sector Board, stated that they will focus on TURQUALITY and URGE Projects for the promotion of Turkish dried fruits and will work together to enhance the visibility of Turkish dried fruits at trade fairs. He emphasized that they will concentrate on China and India as target markets and that one of their main focus areas will be improving quality and food safety.
Özgür underlined that the Dried Fruit Exporters’ Associations in İzmir, Gaziantep and Istanbul will act jointly to address the problems in the dried fruit sector. “To this end, we have agreed to hold Dried Fruit and Products Exporters’ Associations Sector Board Meetings in dried fruit production regions to monitor the pulse of these regions. We will develop joint projects with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the Ministry of Trade, producers, universities, research institutes, traders and all stakeholders in the sector to prevent the formation of aflatoxins and ochratoxins in seedless dried grapes and dried figs,” he added…
