Seafood exports from the Eastern Black Sea region to 27 countries, primarily Russia, were made between January and August.

Ismail Kobya, Chairman of the Seafood Sector Committee of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters’ Association, told an Anatolian Agency (AA) correspondent that 20,047 tonnes of seafood products were exported to 27 countries from the region in 8 months.
Stating that the exports generated 134,553,155 dollars in revenue, Kobya said, “In the same period last year, 126,873,900 dollars worth of fishery products were exported from our region. Fishery product exports from the Eastern Black Sea soared by 6 percent compared to the same period last year.”
Kobya also emphasised that Russia ranked first with 62 million 405 thousand 11 dollars and continued as follows:
“This country was followed by Japan with 21 million 185 thousand 606 dollars and Belarus with 18 million 435 thousand 663 dollars. During this period, seafood was sold to Bulgaria, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Switzerland, Greece, Austria and Indonesia, which were not included in the same period last year.”
