Black Sea Fishery Exports Exceed 28 Million Dollars in the First Month of the Year…
Seafood exports from four Black Sea provinces in January 2026 reached 28,010,462 dollars, a 46 percent spike compared to the same period last year.

Saffet Kalyoncu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters’ Association, told an Anatolian Agency (AA) reporter that seafood was exported to 18 countries from Trabzon, Rize, Samsun, and Sinop in the first month of the year.
Kalyoncu stated that 3,928 tonnes of seafood were exported from 4 provinces in January 2026 and made the following assessment:
“This export generated revenue of 28,010,462 dollars. In the same period last year, 2,777 tonnes of seafood were exported, generating 19,228,134 dollars in revenue. In this context, seafood exports from the 4 provinces in the Black Sea region in the first month of the year increased by 41 percent in quantity and 46 percent in value compared to the first month of last year.”
“The Russian Federation ranked first in fishery exports with 13,409,135 dollars, followed by Greece with 3,558,817 dollars and the Netherlands with 2,562,518 dollars,” he said.
“Unlike the first month of last year, seafood exports were also made to China and the Philippines during this period and we are striving to enhance exports and the diversity of countries we export to. We also expect the region’s seafood exports to reach much better levels in the coming days,” Kalyoncu added…
