Nurettin Tarakçıoğlu: Turkish Herbal Tea Turquality Project takes place in ‘2028 Export Vision’

Nurettin Tarakçıoğlu, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Aegean Furniture, Paper and Forestry Products Exporters’ Association, said that they carry out various studies in coordination with Provincial Directorates of Agriculture and universities in order to produce our products such as sage, laurel, oregano and rosemary with the right methods and to increase their production areas.

Tarakçıoğlu stated that in order to inform oregano producers, they held producer meetings in four regions where the most oregano is produced in Denizli in partnership with Denizli Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, and that they will repeat the same meetings in May in 2024.

Giving brief information about the projects they will continue in 2024, Tarakçıoğlu said, “In cooperation with Izmir Chamber of Commerce and Izmir Commodity Exchange, we have completed the needs analysis process of the ‘Ur-Ge Project for the Development of International Competitiveness in the Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Sector’, which we carry out in order to ramp up the competitiveness of the medicinal and aromatic plants sector and the companies operating in the sector. We will start the activities by considering the demands of 19 project beneficiary companies.”

Pointing out that within the scope of the “2028 Export Vision” of the Ministry of Trade, Tarakçıoğlu explained, “We will carry out the Turkish Herbal Tea Turquality Project for 4 years in the furniture, paper and medicinal aromatic plants sectors in partnership with the Mediterranean Furniture, Paper and Forestry Products Exporters Association under the coordination of our Associations in order to promote the Turkish brand in the best way in markets such as the USA and Germany, which our sectors have chosen as target countries.”
