Turkey Milk Producers’ Association Chairperson Tevfik Keskin said that there is no benefit in giving authority to organizations unduly which does not provide any contribution to both milk producers, consumers and the government.
Stating that such a situation would cause disorganization and harm, Keskin said, “Milk producer associations should be given more authority.”
Keskin explained, “In order for our farmers to produce more efficiently, raw milk prices should be much better and production costs should be reduced. We, as Turkey Central Association of Milk Producers, have signed a collaboration protocol so as to add value to our producers with the Vocational Qualifications Authority. We continue to work for our producers to protect their business and to make better production and to benefit from the incentives given by the state.”
Pointing out that the SÜTBİR card project to be used by the producer has been implemented, Keskin added, “With this card, it will be possible for our producers to register their milk, to benefit from discounts and to provide zero interest on loans they will use. As the Association, we aim to provide a more disciplined, educated, conscious, low cost, fast and reliable food supply in terms of milk.”
