İlyas Edip Sevinç, Chairman of the Black Sea Hazelnut and Products Exporters’ Association (KFMİB), stated that the export made between 1 September 2019 and 30 June 2020 in hazelnut has already reached 311 thousand 499 tons by breaking the record of all times.
İlyas Edip Sevinç said in his written statement that the numbers reached in the hazelnut exports two months before the 2019/2020 season ends.
Stating that the export made in hazelnut between September 1, 2019 and June 30, 2020 has already reached 311 thousand 499 tons by breaking the record of all times, Sevinç said, “This figure can exceed 330 thousand tons by August 31, 2020.”
Indicating that Turkey obtained 2 billion dollars by exporting hazelnuts as of 30 June 2020, Sevinç added, “But we estimate that this figure would close to 2.2 billion dollars at the end of August.”
Pointing out that the fear of high yield has been eliminated, Sevinç concluded, “The fact that 2019 hazelnut harvest was more than 800 thousand tons and the fears formed with the turnover from the previous year turned out to be a record year when the horror walls were destroyed thanks to extraordinary skill and international demand support of our exporters.”
