Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı introduced the projects that will meet the need for red meat across the country during the examinations in TİGEM Ceylanpınar enterprise, situated in the Türkiye’s Southeastern province of Şanlıurfa.. The Minister emphasised the efforts to develop ovine and bovine breeding.
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı, who inspected the farm where 102 thousand heads of small cattle are raised in the General Directorate of Agricultural Enterprises (TİGEM) Ceylanpınar enterprise, unveiled that in all production levels, they will meet the country’s red meat needs in general.
Pointing out that especially with this project, which is the first of its kind in Türkiye, which is carried out jointly by TİGEM and ESK (Meat and Milk Institute) in terms of access to good, quality and red meat, Yumaklı said, “We will meet the needs of not only our country but also the surrounding countries.”
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı inspected the farm where 102 thousand heads of small cattle are raised in the Ceylanpınar enterprise of the General Directorate of Agricultural Enterprises (TİGEM), which is the largest single-piece enterprise across the world with 1 million 600 thousand decares of land.
Yumaklı, who received information from the authorities, highlighted in his statement that TİGEM Ceylanpınar enterprise is an important centre not only in plant production but also in animal production.
Reminding that the enterprise is an extremely important centre both with its animal inventory and its role in development, Yumaklı added, “Currently, there are 102 thousand very qualified ovine animals only in this enterprise. Now it is time for them to give birth, now it is lambing time. Only in this enterprise, around 62-63 thousand new lambs will be added to this inventory.”
