Tomato in products, Russia stands out in countries…
Istanbul Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association Chairwoman Melisa Tokgöz Mutlu said that last year, the top 5 exported products in the fresh fruit and vegetable sector as value basis were “tomato-fresh”, “cherry-fresh”, “tangerines-others”, “satsuma” and “pomegranate”.
Mutlu said, “Most exports were made to Russia, Germany, Ukraine, Iraq and Romania.”
Stating that the products with the highest increase in exports in the fresh fruit and vegetable sector last year were apple, lemon, peach and nectarine, Mutlu noted, “Spain, Bangladesh, India, England and Dubai can be counted among the rising markets.”
Explaining that “cucumbers and gherkins”, “fruit juices-others”, “apple juices”, “other natural and mineral waters” and “tomato-canned” are also exported in fruit and vegetable products, Mutlu added, “The highest exports were made to Germany, USA, Iraq, the Netherlands and the UK.”
“The most exported products in terms of volume are ‘mixed fruit juices’, ‘strawberry’, ‘apple juice’ along with ‘cherry-sour and cherry’. On the other hand emerging markets in this area are South Korea, Austria, Czechia and Slovenia,” Mutlu concluded…
