The TURQUALITY Project named Turkish Tastes, which was implemented 6 years ago by the Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EIB) with the support of the Ministry of Trade in order to ramp up the export of Turkish food products to the United States of America, the world leader in food imports, organised a very magnificent tasting event.

Mehmet Ali Işık, Sustainability and Organic Products Coordinator of the Aegean Exporters‘ Associations (EIB) and Chair of the Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters’ Association, stated that their primary goal in the Turkish Tastes Project and other marketing activities is to achieve commercial results and underlined that the first fruits of commercialisation in the Turkish Tastes Project have started to be taken and that they will focus on commercialisation in the following process.

Pointing out that the Aegean Exporters’ Association has been promoting Turkish products through various projects, such as the Development of International Competitiveness Projects (URGE), National Participation Organisation in Fairs and Turquality Projects, Işık said, “These efforts have helped companies participate in international fairs and promote their products through tasting events. The association works closely with importers to facilitate communication between them and the participating companies.”

Highlighting that over the past five years, these initiatives have successfully commercialized Turkish tastes,” Işık added, “The association also receives support from Ambassadors and Trade Counsellors, who have helped elevate the presentations and menus at various events. In terms of industry data, Türkiye’s dried fruit exports to the US have increased by 38 percent in the past year, reaching a volume of 217 million dollars. We plan to continue our activities both in the USA and other countries, building upon the accomplishments of our projects.”
