JAK ESKINAZI: TURKISH EXPORTERS RETURNED FROM FOODEX JAPAN WITH NEW HOPES

Due to the pandemic, Turkish food exporters, who could not come together for 4 years and Japanese food importers longed for the Foodex Japan Fair, signed commercial agreements. Turkish exporters called on their Japanese counterparts to establish a Japanese-Turkish Village in the earthquake zone, Japanese business people took action before the Japanese Government to establish a Japanese-Turkish Village.

Turkish food exporters, who could not physically go to Japan, one of the world’s largest food importers, for four years due to the pandemic, physically attended Japan’s largest food fair Foodex Japan on March 7-10 and returned to Türkiye with new export connections.

Expressing that Japan imports 65 billion dollars of food annually and that it is one of the target markets for the Turkish food sector, Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EIB) Coordinator Chairman Jak Eskinazi said that they have been holding the Turkish National Participation Organization for this exhibition for 25 years and achieved a successful fair after 4 years.

Reminding that they carried out a successful TURQUALITY Project for the Japanese market before the pandemic, Eskinazi said, “We organized tasting events from Turkish delicacies prepared according to Japanese tastes for four days at the Foodex Japan 2023 – 48th International Food and Beverage Fair. The olive oil tasting event and the sushi event with Turkish tuna and salmon also attracted great attention. We organized bilateral business meetings between Turkish food exporters and Japanese buyers. The introduction of Turkish food products by Japanese influencers also attracted great interest.”
