JAK ESKINAZI: AEGEAN AGRI-FOOD EXPORTS RUN TO 8 BILLION DOLLARS!

Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EIB) ramped up its exports by 14 percent from 1 billion 377 million dollars to 1 billion 565 million dollars in May. EIB’s exports in the January-May period of 2023 soared by 1 percent to 7 billion 609 million dollars, while its exports in the last 1-year period soared by 3 percent from 17 billion 760 million dollars to 18 billion 314 million dollars.

Reminding that 4 workdays were lost due to Ramadan Feast in May 2022, EIB Coordinator Jak Eskinazi said that the 4 workday difference was eEffective in the increase in exports in May 2023.

Noting that the exports of industrial products from Aegean Exporters’ Associations rose by 6 percent from 782 million to 831 million dollars, Eskinazi said, “The export of our agricultural sectors increased by 26 percent from 503 million to 634 million dollars. Our agricultural sectors have been making us smile for 5 months in 2023, always performing above the average export growth rate.”

“The share of our agricultural sectors in EIB’s total exports boosted from 33 percent to 40 percent. If our agricultural sectors maintain these graphics, they will carry their exports, which reached 7 billion 247 million dollars in the last 1-year period, to 8 billion dollars by the end of 2023,” he added…
