Fresh fruit and vegetable exports reach 3.5 billion dollars…
Hayrettin Uçak, President of Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, said that Interfresh Eurasia has achieved the difficult so far and has become an international fair in the fresh fruit and vegetable sector by increasing the number of exhibitors and visitors every year.
‘’This year, we have brought the only fair of our sector in our country to our beautiful Izmir. We are very happy to host this beautiful exhibiiton. Today, our country is a centre of attraction in the agricultural sector with 60 million tonnes of fruit and vegetable production and food products processed in modern facilities. Izmir is the heart of this centre of attraction in both fresh fruits and vegetables and processed products,‘’ Uçak said.
Pointing out that Türkiye’s fresh fruit and vegetable exports for 2023 reached 3.5 billion dollars, Uçak explained, ‘’When fruit and vegetable products are added, we are talking about a total export of 6 billion dollars. As the Aegean Exporters’ Associations, we register 23 percent of this 6 billion dollar export. This shows that moving the fair to the Aegean Region is an appropriate decision. In 2023, 12,700 visitors from 44 countries came to the Interfresh fair. This year we want to boost this number to 20 thousand. Companies will have the opportunity to reach many new customers both through promotion and the buyer delegation programme. It is also an important development that 4 forms of fruit and vegetables will meet with visitors at the fair this year. It is a good opportunity to show the diversity of our country as a platform where buyers and sellers of all fruits and vegetables, from fresh to canned, from frozen to dried, come together.‘’
Murat Özer, General Manager of Antexpo A.Ş., which organised the fair, thanked those who supported the fair and gave a plaque.
