Norway: New Target for Fresh Fruits, Vegetables and Vegetable Products

The fresh fruit and vegetable and vegetable products sector, which generated 6.1 billion dollars in foreign currency for Türkiye in 2024, has placed Norway, a Northern European country, on its radar.

The Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association organized a trade delegation to Norway as part of the URGE Project, aiming to ramp up Türkiye’s 21 million dollar exports of fresh fruit, vegetables and vegetables to Norway in 2024.

Hayrettin Uçak, Chair of the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, stated that they conducted their first marketing activities in the UK in April as part of the URGE Project, “Turkish Fresh and Processed Fruits and Vegetables Cluster,” supported by the Ministry of Trade. He also announced that they organized their second event in Norway from October 19-23, 2025, with the participation of 10 company representatives in the fruit and vegetable products and fresh fruit and vegetable sectors.

Pointing out that they held bilateral business meetings in Norway through company and market visits, he explained, “We held 66 bilateral business meetings with Norwegian importers. Our Ambassador in Oslo, Gülin Dinç, and our Trade Counselor in Oslo, Ceren Fırat, accompanied our delegation during our visits to Norway and shared critical information about the Norwegian market. It was a productive event for our member companies. We planted the seeds of new export connections to Norway, and we expect these seeds to flourish in the coming period.”

Cengiz Balık, Vice Chair of the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, emphasized that they visited markets in Oslo and had the opportunity to analyze the product variety, price levels and shelf strategies in the Norwegian market.

Highlighting that Norway’s high level of prosperity, he said, “While we exported 21 million dollar worth of fresh fruit, vegetables and products to Norway in 2024, reaching 19 million dollars in the first nine months of 2025. Cherries, lemons, pomegranates, dried tomatoes, pickles and tomato paste were the most prominent products in our exports to Norway. We organized a trade delegation, which strengthens our belief that our fresh fruit, vegetable and product exports to Norway will reach 50 million dollars in the medium term.”
