Grain movement at Turkish Mercantile Exchange (TÜRİB); wheat on the rise, maize declines!

In the Electronic Warehouse Receipts (EWR – ELÜS) Market of the Turkish Mercantile Exchange (TÜRİB), price movements in wheat, corn and barley, which were the most traded agricultural products during the week of 23-26 June 2025, attracted attention. According to weekly index data, the upward trend continued in wheat, while maize saw a decline.

HIGHEST INCREASE IN TÜRİB INDICES FOR PASTA WHEAT…

According to the TÜRİB Agricultural Product Price Indices, the pasta wheat index showed the highest weekly increase of 2.88 percent during the week of 23-26 June. The bread wheat index rose by 1.26 percent and the general wheat index soared by 1.34 percent. In contrast, the maize index ended the week with a 3.96 percent decline. The barley index remained unchanged.

When looking at annual changes, the largest spike was observed in the barley index, reaching 55.99 percent. This was followed by maize (41.41 percent), durum wheat (40.84 percent) and bread wheat (46.15 percent).
