Press release…
The China International Import Expo (CIIE), the world’s largest import fair and one of China’s most prestigious exhibitions, once again served as a platform for significant business connections in 2025.

The Turkish National Participation organisation, led by the Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EIB), took place from 5 to 10 November 2025, with 18 companies from Türkiye participating in the fair. Commercial agreements worth 83.5 billion dollars were signed at CIIE.
Bedri Girit, Chair of the Aegean Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters’ Association, stated that they expect exports to China to commence and increase exponentially in the coming period for products such as sea bass, sea bream, trout and Turkish salmon, in which Türkiye is strong in terms of production and export. “On the other hand,” he said, “I would like to remind that a new agreement was signed between Türkiye and China in the fisheries sector on 15 October 2015.”

Girit also pointed out that the protocol signed between China and Türkiye in the field of fishery products will enhance the competitiveness of the Turkish aquaculture products sector in international markets.
Highlighting that it will make a significant contribution to the diversification of Türkiye’s exports and access to new markets, he added, “During the China Import Expo, we also held talks on obtaining export permits for poultry products from Türkiye to China. Our country has proven that its production is free from avian influenza. We expect an agreement on the poultry sector to be signed in the coming period as well.”
