According to information compiled from data of Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), rapid decline in exports due to outbreak of the Covid-19 was relatively limited with 6.2 percent in the dried fruit and products industry.
The sector, consisting of a total of 11 sub-items, maintained its export volume to a great extent compared to the same period last year, with an export volume of 606.5 million dollars in the first half.
In the first half, the product that the sector exported the most was seedless raisins with 222.1 million dollars. This was followed by dried apricots with 114.9 million dollars, dried figs with 90.4 million dollars, pistachios with 81 million dollars and almonds with 70 million dollars.
In the same period, 15.3 million dollars of walnuts, 8.6 million dollars of apricot and wild apricot (zerdali) stones, 7.5 million dollars of chickpeas, 6.5 million dollars of pine nuts, 3.5 million dollars of dried apples and 707.6 thousand dollars of dried plums.
On the other hand, 28.1 million dollars of other dried fruits and 17.2 million dollars of other roasted fruits were also exported…
