Emre Uygun: Our new target in table olive exports is 300 million dollars!

Press release…

A historic record of 255 million dollars in table olive exports!

Türkiye exceeded its target of 255,310,000 dollars in table olive exports in the 2024/25 season. The sector, which ships black and green olives to 117 countries, aims to export 300 million dollars in the 2025/26 season.

Türkiye achieved its highest foreign exchange revenue in table olive exports in its history in the 2024/25 season. Export revenue soared by 22 percent, from 209 million dollars to 255,310,000 dollars.

Table olive exports reached the second-highest volume, following the record of 109,000 tonnes set in the 2021/22 season, with sales of 100,884 tonnes.

Anatolia’s more than 200 million olive trees yielded 750,000 tonnes of table olives in the 2024/25 season. For the first time in its history, Türkiye has become the world leader in table olive production. While capitalizing on some of this abundance in the domestic market, the country exports to 117 countries, bringing flavour and health to millions of tables.

“We have exceeded the 250 million dollars target”

Emre Uygun, Chair of the Aegean Olive and Olive Oil Exporters’ Association, stated that they began the 2024/25 season with a 250 million dollars target, saying: “Our black olive exports soared by 19 percent, from 162 million dollars to 194 million dollars. Our green olive exports soared by 29 percent, from 47.5 million to 61.4 million dollars. Thus, we are proud to have exceeded our target.”

New target: 300 million dollars

Pointing out that the olive sector is in a busy harvest period, Uygun said, “We expect a table olive yield similar to last season for the 2025/26 season. We believe that recent rainfall will enhance olive yields and quality. Considering the recovery forecasts in global prices, we aim to reach 300 million dollars in table olive exports in the 2025/26 season.”
