The present and future of Turkish salmon were discussed at the Turkish Salmon Workshop, held at the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM).

At the Turkish Salmon Workshop, representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the Ministry of Trade, the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), the TİM Agriculture Board, the Turkish Fisheries and Animal Products Sector Board, and various non-governmental organizations in the fisheries sector convened to discuss how Turkish salmon can achieve its export targets.
Dr. Mehmet Ali Kılıçkaya, Director General of Exports at the Ministry of Trade, stated that Turkish salmon has become a prime example of the new opportunities emerging within the country’s fisheries and aquaculture sector, driven by its strong export momentum and an increasingly solid position in global markets.
Pointing out that the growing international demand for Turkish salmon, particularly in Russia and Vietnam, reveals significant potential for further development, Dr. Kılıçkaya noted, “We view the level that Turkish salmon has reached today not as an end result, but rather as the starting point for a much larger export potential.”
