At the Carbon Neutral 10th Istanbul Carbon Summit held with high stakeholder participation, the Sustainable Production and Consumption Association awarded carbon management achievements.
The Sustainable Production and Consumption Association (SÜT-D), with the main support of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change and Istanbul Technical University (ITU), held the 10th Istanbul Carbon Summit on 14-15 April 2025 at ITU under the title of ‘Sustainable Solutions on the Path to Decarbonisation and the Power of Green Lending’ with high stakeholder participation and awarded carbon management achievements.

Professor Dr. Filiz Karaosmanoğlu, Chairwoman of SÜT-D, stated that the Decarbonisation Summit aimed to build carbon management capacity.

“The summit was made carbon neutral in line with the ISO 20121 Sustainable Event Management System. ITU Rector Professor Dr. Hasan Mandal emphasized the importance of addressing climate change and the progress of the 5th industrial revolution focused on sustainable systems. The goal of ‘2048 Carbon Neutral ITU’ was discussed, highlighting ITU’s commitment to sustainability-oriented education, research, and projects,” she said.

Pointing out that the summit celebrated its tenth year with high stakeholder participation, she noted, “A Summit Final Report and Presentation E-Book are currently being developed. At the event, the Climate Detectives Team from Bilfen, who aim to teach children about climate issues and promote a sustainable lifestyle, expressed their joy and hope for a better future. The SÜT-D Low Carbon Heroes awards were also presented to individuals and institutions for their achievements in carbon management, sustainable production, consumption, and services.”
