Aegean Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters’ Association introduced Turkish products on May 15-18 at APAS, the largest international supermarket fair in Latin America.
Muhammet Öztürk, Chairperson of the Aegean Cereals, Pulses, Oil Seeds and Products Exporters’ Association, said that Turkish exporters have declared 2023 the year of global attack with the Far Countries Strategy.
“We got down on the field with Brazil, the largest economy in Latin America, on May 15-18, 2023. 22 Turkish companies successfully introduced our Turkish products for four days in Sao Paulo. We also organized tasting events by offering Turkish coffee and Turkish delights to the exhibitors and visitors at the stand of our association,” Öztürk said.
“Brazil is the 6th most populous country in the world in terms of population. It also borders ten countries of Latin America. As the cereals, pulses, oilseeds and products sector, we export 8 million dollars to Brazil. Our industry is a leader in food exports. More than 40 percent of food exports are made by our exporters of cereals, pulses, oilseeds and products. Because Brazil is a distant destination, it is a difficult market and costs are high, but we have the potential to boost our exports. APAS Fair hosted 820 exhibitors and approximately 65 thousand visitors from 22 different countries this year. We are extremely pleased with the interest we received at the fair,” he added.
“T.C. Sao Paulo Consul General Gürsel Evren, Commercial Attachés Seçil Önel and Gökçen Türk visited the stands of our association and other Turkish company participants and provided information about the Brazilian market,” he concluded…
