The 1.5 dollars per kilogram Support and Price Stabilisation Fund (DFIF) deduction applied to table egg exports has been lifted. Bedri Girit, Chair of the Aegean Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters’ Association, stated that the decision will alleviate the financial burden on exporters and give the sector a competitive advantage.

“The decision is not only a removal of a financial burden; it is also a strategic step that paves the way for our sector and provides a breath of fresh air for our exporters. Our table egg exports have an ever-growing potential, particularly in the Middle Eastern and Asian markets. However, the DFIF deduction applied per kilogram was limiting our exporters’ competitiveness, straining their cost structure and making it difficult to maintain prices in foreign markets,” Girit said.
Pointing out that during the period the DFIF deduction was in effect, exports decreased by 60 percent compared to the same period last year, he added, “Therefore, we have worked intensively for a long time, both with our Ministries and within-sector platforms, to have this deduction lifted.”
