In the January-December period of 2024, hazelnut exports from Türkiye reached 324 thousand 438 tonnes and 2 billion 638 million 359 thousand dollars of foreign currency inflow was obtained in return. When these export realisations were compared with the same period of the previous year, an increase of 14 percent in quantity and 42 percent in value has been achieved.
Sebahattin Arslantürk, Vice Chair of the Hazelnut and Hazelnut Products Sector Committee of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters’ Association (DKİB), who made evaluations on the subject, stated that exports were made to 127 different countries from the country in the 12-month period and that the top 5 countries to which the most exports were made were Germany, Italy, Poland, France and the People’s Republic of China, respectively.
Referring to the fact that the hazelnut export season, which started in September, made a very good opening, Arslantürk underlined that in the first four months of the hazelnut export season, 135 thousand 160 tonnes of hazelnuts were exported in return for 1 billion 95 million 241 thousand dollars in foreign currency inflow.
Emphasing that Trabzon province ranks 1st in hazelnut exports, Arslantürk said, “32 percent of the total hazelnut exports in the 12-month period were carried out by Trabzon province alone.”
Arslantürk also highlighted that in the first four months of the 2024/2025 export season, 36 thousand 779 tonnes of 328 million 810 thousand dollars worth of exports were made and an increase of 53 percent in quantity and 98 percent in value was experienced compared to the same period of the previous season…
