Alper Alhat: We made a strong entry to the Middle East market as Akhisar

MFF Middle East Food Fair, which was held for the first time this year in Türklye’s southeastern city of Gaziantep and stands out as the most comprehensive food exhibition in the Middle East, was a historical turning point for Manisa’s leading agrifood industrial centre of Akhisar.

Participating in the fair under the coordination of Akhisar Commodity Exchange and Akhisar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, 15 companies from Akhisar district contributed to the export vision of the region by introducing their products to the international market. Especially at the Akhisar stand, where foreign procurement delegations showed great interest, many bilateral business meetings were held and many commercial agreements were signed. Gaziantep Governor Kemal Çeber was also among the names who visited the stand. Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology Dr Çetin Ali Dönmez and Gaziantep Governor Kemal Çeber were among the visitors to the Akhisar stand. Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology Dr Çetin Ali Dönmez opened the fair. Apart from the fair, Akhisar delegation also visited Gaziantep Commodity Exchange, Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce and Gaziantep Chamber of Industry and made contacts to improve inter-institutional cooperation.

‘Akhisar Opened Closed Doors in the Middle East’

Bahattin Alkın, Chairman of the Akhisar Commodity Exchange Assembly, emphasised the importance of the Middle East market for Türkiye. “This fair is not only a promotional area for us, but also a sign of a strong re-entry into closed markets. As Akhisar, we have started to take a strategic position in the Middle East with our olive, olive oil and processed food products. The bilateral meetings of Akhisar companies are the most concrete indicators of this,” Alkın said.

‘This Fair will enlarge Akhisar’s Middle East Vision’

Alper Alhat, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Akhisar Commodity Exchange, emphasised that the fair will contribute to long-term export plans and said:
“The point that Akhisar district has reached in the agriculture and food industry has become visible once again in this fair. It was very valuable for us to take part in this international event organised in a strategic province like Gaziantep. The commercial agreements obtained as a result of bilateral negotiations will make serious contributions to Akhisar in terms of exports in the coming period.”

Sami Karaoğlan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Akhisar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, drew attention to the opportunities offered by the fair to the business world. “This fair created an important ground to meet new markets and increase our competitiveness. Akhisarlı companies made a difference with their product quality and export potential. We are now one step closer to the Middle East market,” he added.

MFF Middle East Food Fair was organised under the auspices of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) in cooperation with Gaziantep Chamber of Industry (GSO) and Nobel Expo Fair. Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce, Southeastern Anatolia Exporters’ Associations (GAIB) and Gaziantep Commodity Exchange also supported the fair with participation from 24 countries…
