The power in Turkiye is 19 MW higher than all of Europe
Turkiye’s installed power in the geothermal field surpassed the total power in all European countries last year.
According to the data in the 2022 Renewable Energy Statistics study published by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), the geothermal installed power of the countries in the European continent reached 1,657 MW with an increase of 30 MW, and the power in Turkiye reached 1,676 MW with a rise of 63 MW.
In the same period, global power in geothermal energy rose by 1,571 MW to 15,644 MW.
Turkiye ranks fourth in the world…
According to the data in the study, as of the end of 2021, the number of countries producing electricity from geothermal energy in the world increased to 31, while Turkiye ranks fourth among these countries in terms of installed power.
In the ranking, the USA comes first with a power of 3,889 MW, Indonesia comes second with 2,277 MW and the Philippines comes in third with 1,928 MW.
