DKİB WAS AT THE CENTRE OF THE SECTOR AT VIETFISH 2026…
The Eastern Black Sea Exporters Association (DKİB), as part of its Turkish Salmon International Competition Development Project (UR-GE Project), participated for the first time in the Vietnam International Fisheries Exhibition – VIETFISH 2026 with 8 participating exporting companies. Held from August 19-21, 2026, at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, Türkiye was strongly represented under the brand “Turkish Salmon from Black Sea” through the DKİB organization.

Organized by the Vietnam Seafood Exporters and Producers Association (VASEP), VIETFISH 2026 brought together 335 companies and 568 stands in an exhibition area exceeding 14,000 square metres. The fair, which saw participation from 17 countries and regions, including Türkiye, hosted approximately 15,000 visitors over three days, once again demonstrating its importance as one of the most significant meeting points for the seafood value chain in Asia.
Eight beneficiary companies participating in the fair under the coordination of DKİB (Eastern Black Sea Exporters Association) showcased Turkish salmon, as well as various product groups such as fish meal, fish oil, sea snails and fish feed, to international buyers and industry professionals. The intensive bilateral business meetings held throughout the fair significantly contributed to our companies establishing new trade connections and developing existing collaborations in Vietnam and surrounding Asian markets.
The participation and support of Ms. Sanem Yumurtacı Yıldız, the Commercial Attaché of the Republic of Türkiye in Hanoi, further strengthened the visibility of the Turkish pavilion in the market. Ms. Yıldız shared her assessments of opportunities in the Vietnamese market during her contacts with our companies and industry representatives, providing support to our exporters.
The DKİB stand also hosted high-level figures from Vietnam’s public and business sectors throughout the fair. The visits of Mr. Vo Van Hung, Vice Minister of Agriculture and Environment of Vietnam; Ms. Phan Thi Thang, Vice Minister of Industry and Trade of Vietnam; Mr. Nguyen Minh Hang, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam; Mr. Tran Ngoc Liem, Deputy Secretary General of VCCI and General Manager of VCCI Ho Chi Minh City Chapter; Mr. Do Ngoc Tai, President of VASEP and Mr. Nguyen Hoai Nam, Deputy Secretary General of VASEP, to the stand reinforced the strong position of the Turkish fisheries sector in the Vietnamese market.

At VIETFISH, where Türkiye participated for the first time, Turkish Salmon attracted significant attention from visitors due to its quality, taste, freshness and high production standards. The comprehensive promotional area created under the brand “Turkish Salmon from Black Sea” effectively conveyed the production capacity and export vision of the Eastern Black Sea aquaculture sector to international visitors through striking visual applications, promotional materials and strong brand visibility.
The fair’s theme of “Innovation and Sustainability” highlighted key areas shaping the future of the sector, such as traceability, environmental responsibility, green technologies, value-added production and changing market standards. The inaugural Hosted Buyer Programme, the domestic B2B programme and five expert seminars further strengthened the trade networking and information sharing aspects of the fair.
In a statement by DKİB’s officials, it was stated, “Our first participation in VIETFISH 2026 was a new and strategic step in the brand journey of Turkish Salmon in international markets. The strong unity we demonstrated in Vietnam with eight of our companies and the intense interest shown in our stand clearly revealed the potential of our product in this market. As DKİB, we will resolutely continue to promote the ‘Turkish Salmon from Black Sea’ brand in important trade centres around the world and support our companies’ access to new markets.”
It was also emphasized that VIETFISH 2026 was not only a successful fair participation but also an important starting point for increasing the awareness of Turkish Salmon in the Vietnamese and Southeast Asian markets, establishing sustainable trade relations and diversifying regional exports. Lastly, it was noted that the coordinated promotion and marketing activities carried out by DKİB within the scope of the UR-GE project will continue in the coming period, contributing to the global competitiveness of the Turkish fisheries sector…
