Türkiye’s “green gold,” Çubuk pickles, are among the world’s delicacies with 45 varieties…
Prepared in the Çubuk district of Ankara province and described as “green gold,” these pickles add flavour to tables not only in Türkiye but also around the world.

According to information compiled by an Anatolian Agency (AA) reporter, the Çubuk district of Ankara, known as the “Çukurova of Central Anatolia” due to its fertile and flat agricultural lands, is recognized worldwide for its pickles.
“Çubuk pickles,” which have become synonymous with the district, are produced at the Çubuk Home-Style Pickle Production Facility, established in partnership with the municipality and the Ankara Development Agency. Produced during the summer months, Çubuk pickles are available on shelves during the autumn and winter.
While cucumber pickles are the most popular choice among pickle lovers, the district produces 45 different types of pickles, including cabbage, aubergine, carrot, maize, tangerine and banana.
“Green Gold” Received Geographical Indication from TÜRKPATENT in 2008…
Çubuk Mayor Baki Demirbaş stated that they describe Çubuk pickles as “green gold.”

Demirbaş pointed out that the pickles, which received geographical indication registration from the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office in 2008 and for which an application for registration has also been submitted to the European Union, have become a brand. “Our Çubuk pickles have become a brand thanks to the fact that the pickles made by our elders, mothers and aunts centuries ago have been appreciated by the public over time. We believe that the most important feature that makes our pickles delicious is that the ingredients used in their production are produced in our district,” Demirbaş said.
Explaining that they sell their products all over Türkiye, he noted, “The market share of our Çubuk pickles, which we also sell abroad, is increasing day by day. Our pickles have become indispensable not only on tables in Türkiye but also in 15 countries, including the USA, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, and England.”
“Our goal is for Çubuk pickles to take their place on tables in all countries of the world, just as they have in Türkiye and to become a global brand,” he added…
