Turkish dried fruits promoted in India through the TURQUALITY Project!

Press release…

July 2026…

Yusuf Gabay, Sustainability and Organic Products Coordinator at the Aegean Exporters’ Associations and Chairman of the Aegean Dried Fruit and Products Exporters’ Association, stated that Türkiye is a reliable supplier in global markets for seedless dried grapes, dried figs and dried apricots in global markets not only due to its production capacity but also because of its expertise in quality, food safety and sustainability.

Emphasizing that they are continuing their promotional efforts to enhance the global brand value of Turkish dried fruit without interruption, Gabay said, “We aim to grow in the Indian market through the TURQUALITY Project we are implementing in India. The European Union and the United States are our traditional markets. Whilst maintaining our strong position in the EU market, we are targeting growth in the Far East and South Asia.”

Pointing out that they have organised training sessions for producers in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry to prevent the formation of aflatoxins and ochratoxins in Turkish dried fruit and that they have contributed to the widespread adoption of reliable production through equipment support, Gabay added, “Every link in the quality chain must bear the same responsibility. The sector’s current success is underpinned by the investments exporters have made over the years in quality and food safety. We can only succeed if the entire value chain – from producers to exporters and from public institutions to all stakeholders – acts in unison.”
