The Turkish dried fruit sector maintained its strong position in world markets during the first half of 2026. In the first half of 2026, the Turkish dried fruit sector achieved an export performance of 752 million dollars, with the Aegean Dried Fruit and Products Exporters Association accounting for a large portion (62 percent) or 465 million dollars.
Türkiye, a world leader in seedless dried grapes, dried apricots and dried figs, aims for 2 billion dollars in dried fruit and products exports by the end of 2026.
Yusuf Gabay, Coordinator of Sustainability and Organic Products at the Aegean Exporters’ Associations and Chair of the Aegean Dried Fruit and Products Exporters’ Association, emphasized that Türkiye is a reliable supplier in global markets for seedless raisins, dried figs and dried apricots, not only in terms of production capacity but also in terms of quality, food safety and sustainability.
Gabay pointed out that carbon footprint, pesticide residue, traceability and sustainable production criteria are becoming increasingly crucial in export markets, particularly in the European Union.
“Producing only high-quality products is no longer enough in international markets. Supporting production with environmental responsibility, food safety and traceability principles has become a fundamental element of competitiveness,” he said.
“The Turkish dried fruit sector is ready for this transformation thanks to investments made over many years in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, producers, exporters, traders, universities and research institutes. Turkish dried fruits are consumed with peace of mind all over the world,” he added…
