Six month revenue from hazelnut exports surpasses 1.4 billion dollars, Trabzon maintains its lead…

During the January–June period of 2025, foreign exchange earnings totalling 1,170,266,000 dollars were generated from the export of 141,000 tonnes of hazelnuts; during the January–June period of 2026, 106,000 tonnes of hazelnuts were exported from Türkiye, generating foreign exchange earnings of 1 billion 435 million 204 thousand dollars. When compared with the same period of the previous year, these export figures showed a 25 percent decrease in volume and a 23 percent spike in value.

In the first six months of the year, exports were made to 106 different countries, with the top five export destinations respectively Germany, Italy, France, Poland and Spain.

In the first ten months of the hazelnut export season, which began in September, foreign exchange earnings of 2 billion 216 million 556 thousand dollars obtained from the export of 169,648 tonnes of hazelnuts. Compared to the same period of the previous year, exports saw a 38 percent decrease in volume and a 2 percent decrease in value.

Looking specifically at hazelnut exports from the province of Trabzon, in the first six months of 2025, exports of 44,076 tonnes of hazelnuts provided foreign exchange earnings of 387,788,000 dollars; in the first six months of 2026, hazelnut exports from Trabzon province totalling 32,540 tonnes generated foreign exchange earnings of 521 million 70 thousand dollars. Compared with the same period of the previous year, a 26 percent decrease in export volume was recorded, whilst there was a 34 percent spike in value. During the January–June period, 36.3 percent of the hazelnut exports from our country were carried out from Trabzon province, which ranks first in hazelnut exports.

In the first ten months of the hazelnut export season, exports from Trabzon totalled 40,707 tonnes, worth 619 million 873 thousand dollars; this represented a 50 percent decrease in volume and a 13 percent decrease in value compared to the same period of the previous season…
