EIB Accelerates Its China Journey: Target of 1 Billion Dollars in Exports…
The Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EIB) has ramped up its exports to China from 300 million to 516 million dollars over the past three years, accounting for approximately 21 dollars of every 100 dollars of Türkiye’s total exports to China.
Aiming to reach 1 billion dollars in exports to China in the medium term, EIB is continuing its efforts to enhance the presence of Turkish exporters in the Chinese market.
The EIB will organise the national delegation for the China-Eurasia Expo 2026, to be held in Urumqi, the capital of China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, between 25 and 29 June 2026.
Muhammet Öztürk, Coordinating Chairman of the Aegean Exporters’ Associations, announced that whilst the country’s exports to China stand at approximately 3.3 billion dollars, imports from China are approaching 50 billion dollars.
“This results in a trade deficit of approximately 46.3 billion dollars between the two countries. Guided by the principle that ‘China is as close a market for exports as it is for imports’, we aim to increase the share of Turkish products in the Chinese market. The year 2026 holds particular significance as it marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Türkiye and China,” he said.
Pointing out taht within this framework, EIB’s activities targeting China have surged significantly in recent years, he noted, “In addition to organising national participation initiatives, we regularly organise trade delegations and cooperation programmes between the two countries.”
