Jak Eskinazi: The number of target countries for Aegean exporters has soared to 60!

The first good news for exporters in 2026 came from the Ministry of Trade. The Ministry of Trade increased the number of target countries from 55 to 60 in 2026.

Target countries for 2025; Germany, the United States, Australia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Algeria, Czech Republic, People’s Republic of China, Indonesia, Ethiopia, Morocco, Ivory Coast, Philippines, France, Ghana, South Africa, South Korea, India, Iraq, Spain, Italy, Japan, Cambodia, Canada, Qatar, Kenya, Colombia, Kuwait, Libya, Malaysia, Mexico, Egypt, Nigeria, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Peru, Portugal, Romania, Russian Federation, Senegal, Serbia, Saudi Arabia, Chile, Tanzania, Thailand, Tunisia, Oman, Jordan, Venezuela, and Vietnam will retain their positions in 2026, while Palestine, Syria, Slovakia, Hungary, and North Macedonia are new additions to the list.

Jak Eskinazi, the Coordinating Chair of the Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EIB), announced that the Ministry of Trade provides state support in 16 categories every year to enhance the competitiveness of Turkish exporters in the international arena, highlighting that support for overseas fairs, TURQUALITY, sectoral trade delegations, agriculture, domestic fair participation, market entry, unit rent and e-export are particularly prominent.

Target countries accounted for 73 percent of EIB’s exports…

Eskinazi emphasized that the Ministry of Trade provides an additional 20 points of support for participation in fairs and sectoral trade delegations organized for target countries and that companies in target sectors receive an additional 5 points of support. He added, “Of the 16.86 billion dollars in exports achieved by the Aegean Exporters’ Associations in the first 11 months of 2025, 12.25 billion dollars or 73 percent, was made to target countries. We aim to maintain this trend in 2026.”

Eskinazi also stated that the Ministry of Trade allocated 33 billion TL in its budget for state support in 2025 and that the Ministry of Trade has increased the support amount to 45 billion TL for 2026. “Our exporters expect 1 percent of the foreign currency we bring to the countr to be channeled as export support,” he concluded…
