The opening of the Balıkesir Agriculture and Livestock Fair, which will be held for the second time this year, will be held on October 2nd.

At the fair’s introductory meeting held at a hotel in the city, Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Akın thanked all institutions and organizations that supported the fair.
Akın stated that the fair will be held in a five-times larger area this year and that 140 companies will participate.
“Our fair will be one of the largest animal exhibitions in our country, with more than 40 farms from various provinces in Türkiye participating. This fair will also be a lively, educational, entertaining fair that encourages our children and young people to engage in agriculture. Therefore, it will include a variety of different events and many surprises. The breeding stock exhibition, which will be held with international participation, will feature various special breeds, and we will make a great effort to highlight the Balıkesir lamb. Furthermore, the national native chicken breeds show will add a special touch to our fair,” Akın said.
Mehmet Çetin, Chair of the Balıkesir Commodity Exchange, explained Balıkesir’s need for a fairground and added, “When Balıkesir province is mentioned, our meat, milk, eggs, white meat, olives and olive oil come first in Türkiye. Hopefully, we will take it to even higher places with these events.”
The fair will conclude on October 5th…
