Cereal exports reached 8.1 billion dollars in the first eight months of the year…

According to data shared by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM); the cereals, pulses, oilseeds and products sector, which includes basic food items such as chocolate and cocoa products, sunflower oil, biscuits and wafers, confectionery, pasta and wheat flour, achieved a total export value of 8.1 billion dollars in the first eight months of 2025.

In terms of volume, the sector’s exports decreased by 4.6 per cent compared to the same period last year; however, a 9.2 per cent increase in unit export prices resulted in a 4.2 per cent increase in value terms. In the export ranking, chocolate and cocoa-based products took first place with 844.1 million dollars and a 61.8 per cent increase, while sunflower oil took second place with a 17.3 per cent increase and 708.6 million dollars in exports.

In Iraq, the sector’s largest export market with nearly 1.2 billion dollars in eight months, exports declined by 14.5 per cent, while the US market saw a remarkable 34 per cent spike, with exports to this country reaching 570.9 million dollars. Syria, Algeria and Saudi Arabia followed Iraq and the US as other prominent countries in terms of exports.
