Celal Kadooğlu, President of the Southeast Anatolia Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters Association, announced that they are a party to one of the memoranda signed within the scope of establishing a new generation comprehensive economic partnership agreement between Türkiye and Syria.

“Within the scope of the work of the Türkiye-Syria Economic and Trade Joint Committee, as the Southeastern Anatolia Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters’ Association, we signed memorandums of understanding with the Damascus Chamber of Commerce and the Aleppo Chamber of Commerce. As the Turkish Exporters’ Assembly (TİM) Syria Desk, we also met with a delegation from the Syrian Ministry of Economy and Industry and discussed Türkiye-Syria trade relations, regional investment issues and inter-institutional cooperation,” he said.
Kadooğlu also stated that in the first seven months of the year, when the country’s exports to Syria surged by 49.3 percent to exceed 1.2 billion dollars, the share of the Southeast approached 500 million dollars.
Pointing out that there was a 41 percent spike in Southeastern Anatolia’s exports to Syria in the seven-month period, resulting in a revenue increase of nearly 150 million dollars compared to the same period last year, he explained, “Based on the current order environment, we expect Türkiye’s exports to Syria to exceed 2 billion dollars by the end of the year, with our region approaching 1 billion dollars. While the grain sector maintains its top position in our total exports, we are observing significant activity between the two countries in various sectors, particularly chemical products and goods, fishery products, animal products and electrical and electronic goods.”
“We will participate in the 62nd Damascus International Fair, which will be held between 27 August and 5 September 2025, with a national stand. We believe that this event will present important opportunities for the realisation of mutual investment opportunities,” he added…
