The Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change announced that July 2025 was the hottest July in Türkiye in the last 55 years. The average temperature reached 26.9 degrees, with a record high of 49.4 degrees recorded in Cizre district of Şırnak province.

In a statement from the ministry, the July 2025 Temperature Assessment Report prepared by the General Directorate of Meteorology was shared.
It was noted that the average temperature in July in Türkiye soared by 1.9 degrees to 26.9 degrees and was recorded as the hottest July in the past 55 years.
The statement noted that record values were measured at 66 of the 220 stations used in the climate assessment and that Cizre district in Şırnak ranked first among the top 10 stations where temperature records were set.
