Sebahattin Arslantürk, Deputy Chairman of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters’ Association (DKİB) Hazelnut and Hazelnut Products Sector Committee, announced that decline in hazelnut productivity raises alarm!

Pointing out that productivity, which was above 100 kg per decare in Türkiye and worldwide between 2012 and 2021, has declined to 100 kg levels in recent years, Arslantürk said, “Climate change and rising input costs have negatively affected productivity in production.
Highlighting that area-based support has been insufficient in the face of inflation, Arslantürk underscored the urgent need to implement sustainable production models that enhance yield and quality and boost competitiveness.”
He also noted that it is essential for ministries to swiftly implement policies that ensure sustainability in agricultural products and encourage producers to engage in efficient, high-quality production in order to achieve this goal…
