In Türkiye’s Turkish Exporters’ Assembly (TİM) Top 1000 Exporters List, which is considered the champions league of exporters, the Turkish fisheries and animal products sector was represented by 24 companies. The Aegean Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters’ Association made its mark on the list with 13 companies.
Emphasising that the fisheries and animal products sector in Türkiye has shown significant growth since 2000 and has become one of the star industries in terms of exports, Sinan Kızıltan, Chairman of the Turkish Fisheries and Animal Products Sector Council, underlined that this growth is reflected in the TİM Top 1000 List every year.
Highlighting that the sector aims to reach 4.1 billion dollars in exports by the end of 2025, Kızıltan said, “We have the world’s most modern production facilities in the sub-sectors of aquatic products, poultry, eggs, dairy products and honey. We are among the top 10 countries in the world in production in every sub-sector. In addition, we are making significant investments in R&D. Over the past 10 years, we have seen significant growth in Turkish salmon and reached an export potential of 500 million dollars.”
“We have set an export target of 10 billion dollars by 2040 and are moving steadily toward this goal. When our exports reach the 10 billion dollar level, we aim to have 50 companies from our sector listed in the TİM Top 1000 Exporters List,” he added…
