The award ceremony of the “Project Idea Competition Agriculture Rising with Young People” organised by Izmir Commodity Exchange was held at AGROEXPO Fair.
The importance of young people being the architects of the future in agriculture was emphasised.
The award ceremony of the competition was held at Fair Izmir within the scope of AGROEXPO 20th International Agriculture and Livestock Fair, which opened today.
Mustafa Şahin, Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry, said at the ceremony in the foyer area that the competition has an important function in bringing young ideas together with agriculture.
‘Agriculture will rise with young people and build the future of Türkiye’
Işınsu Kestelli, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of İTB, stated that the world is faced with important problems regarding the sustainability of agricultural production.
Underlining that the aim of the competitions is to ensure that young people see agriculture not only as a profession but also as a future opportunity, Kestelli said, “Because we know that agriculture will rise with young people and build the future of Türkiye. With our competition, we are trying to contribute to the solution of this problem, even if partially. We encourage young people to direct their interest to agriculture again.”
