JAK ESKINAZI: WE AIM TO BOOST OUR EXPORTS TO CHINA 4 TIMES

Turkish exporters are going to China’s largest import fair to reduce our foreign trade deficit. 15 Turkish companies will work overtime to ramp up Türkiye’s exports to China and reduce the foreign trade deficit at “China International Import Fair 2023”, China’s most prestigious fair, which will be held for the 6th time in Shanghai, China on 5-10 November 2023.

Jak Eskinazi, Coordinator Chair of the Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EIB), reminded that Türkiye imported 363 billion dollars against 254 billion dollars of exports in 2022 and noted that 38 billion dollars of their 109 billion dollars foreign trade deficit originated from China.

Stating that the Aegean Exporters’ Associations have undertaken the Türkiye’s National Participation Organisation of the China International Import Fair for 4 years, Eskinazi said, “Although China ranks first in the world with 3.6 trillion dollars of exports according to 2022 data, it is the second country in the world with 2.7 trillion dollars of imports. We desire our trade with China to grow on a mutual and healthy basis.”

“The ‘Far Countries Action Plan’ implemented by our Ministry of Trade in 2022 aims to increase our exports to 80 billion dollars to 18 countries to which we export 20 billion dollars annually. China is one of these countries. We want to surge our exports to China from 3 billion dollars to 12 billion dollars by 4 times within the framework of these targets,” Eskinazi added…
