While the harvest of table apricots has started in the Mediterranean province of Mersin’s Mut district, 150 thousand tonnes of apricot yield and 80 thousand tonnes of exports are expected this year.

Muharrem Yılmaz, Head of Mut Chamber of Agriculture, said that they produce apricots in an area of 77 thousand 800 decares in Mut district.
“Almost 90-95 per cent of the apricots we produce are table apricots. Mut is unique in Türkiye. Due to the geographical location of our district, early apricot starts in Mut. Apricot starts at the end of April and ends at the end of June in our district,” he added…
