Muhammet Öztürk, Chairperson of the Aegean Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds Exporters’ Association, said that oregano producers should be supported, crops should be harvested more consciously and efficiently and trainings should be increased for farmers in order to offer quality and standard production to world markets.
“We need to increase our producer meetings, workshops and trainings, where we will provide warm contact with the producer by explaining the right practices to be taken into account in the cultivation of oregano plant and we need to use TV channels, social media and digital channels intensively,” Öztürk said.
Explaining that they have been conducting training activities for the farmers in regions where oregano production is intense for a long time, Öztürk added, “We also prepared a video series in cooperation with a thematic TV channel in order to reach more farmers.”
“In this group, which we have formed with the members of our Furniture, Paper and Forest Products Exporters’ Association and Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds Exporters’ Association, we will establish contacts with relevant institutions and organizations and share current developments instantly in order to quickly address and solve all common problems of the sector,” Öztürk concluded…
