The Manisa Salihli District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry has informed farmers of the importance of crop rotation. The Directorate advised farmers to plant different crops in a planned rotation, stating that those who have planted the same three crops consecutively since 2019 will not be eligible for subsidies in the third year.
The Salihli District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry in Manisa province drew farmers’ attention to the importance of crop rotation in terms of preserving soil fertility and ensuring the sustainability of agricultural production.
In the information provided by the Directorate, it was stated that producers who have sown the same three crops consecutively since 2019 will not be eligible for subsidies in the third year. Farmers were advised to grow different crops in rotation according to a specific plan, rather than continuously planting the same crop.
The briefing emphasised that crop rotation is not merely a planting plan; it was explained that different plants utilise the soil’s nutrients in different ways, thereby helping to maintain the soil’s balance.
