THE MINISTRY AND AEGEAN EXPORTERS TO JOIN FORCES PRODUCING RESIDUE-FREE FRUIT AND VEGETABLE…

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Association (EYMSİB) will join forces to produce residue-free fruit and vegetables.

Aegean Region’s fresh fruit, vegetables and products export target for 2021 is set for 1 billion 200 million dollars.

EYMSİB has received the support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry so as to increase the export share of Turkey’s annual production of 55 million tonnes of fresh fruits and vegetables. Leaving the year 2020 behind with an export of 1 billion 40 million dollars, EYMSİB set a target of 1 billion 200 million dollars for 2021 with the support it received from Ankara.

The Board of Directors of the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association met with the Deputy Ministers of Agriculture and Forestry Ms. Ayşe Ayşın Işıkgece and Mr. Mehmet Hadi Tunç in Ankara. During the visit, the idea of ​​the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and EYMSİB to implement a new project for the production of fruit and vegetables suitable for human health without residue was adopted.

Hayrettin Uçak: Despite the pandemic, we have reached both the domestic market and the export

Giving the information about the last year’s performance of EYMSİB during the visits, Hayrettin Uçak, the chairperson of the Association, said, “We have worked for 24 hours in 7 days during the pandemic period, thus we have managed to provide the food necessity of the country and inked a record export performance of 1 billion and 40 million dollars with a rise of 17 percent.”

The delegation of EYMSİB, on the visit to Ankara, consisted of Chairperson of the Board Hayrettin Uçak, Vice Chairpersons of the Board Murat Ödül and Cengiz Balık, Board Members Sadık Demircan, Ata Özdemir and Martin Sanford along with Aegean Exporters’ Association (EİB) employees Gökay Çelikli and Burcu Kurnaz.
