SAFFET KALYONCU: REGIONAL EXPORTS FROM EASTERN BLACK SEA SOARED BY 8 PERCENT

In the Eastern Black Sea Region, which is under the jurisdiction of the General Secretariat of Eastern Black Sea Exporters’ Association (DKİB), in the January-October period of 2023, exports from Trabzon, Rize, Artvin and Gümüşhane provinces amounted to 1 billion 162 million 258 thousand 626 dollars and there was a 3 percent increase in exports compared to the same period of the previous year.

Fishery exports

Saffet Kalyoncu, Chairman of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters’ Association (DKİB), announced that in the 10-month period of 2023, exports from the region are 882 million 625 thousand dollars from Trabzon province, 186 million 963 thousand dollars from Rize province, 52 million 779 thousand dollars from Artvin province and 39 million 891 thousand dollars from Gümüşhane province.

Pointing out that in the January-October period of 2023, the sectors with the highest exports from Trabzon, Rize, Artvin and Gümüşhane provinces of the Eastern Black Sea Region, Kalyoncu explained:

  • 444 Million 884 thousand 505 dollars with Hazelnut,
  • 183 Million 127 Thousand 254 USD and Aquaculture and Livestock Products,
  • 174 Million 176 thousand 273 dollars with Fresh Fruits and Vegetables,
  • 134 million 3 thousand 796 dollars with Mining and Metals,
  • 35 Million 692 Thousand 321 dollars with Chemical Substances and Products.

“In the January-October period of 2023, exports were made to 136 different countries from our Eastern Black Sea Region and the first 5 countries with the highest exports were Russian Federation, Italy, Georgia, Germany and the People’s Republic of China,” Kalyoncu added…
