Salmon exports from the Eastern Black Sea region reached 95,290,222 dollars in the January-July period.

Hasan Kuzuoğlu, Chairman of the Fisheries Sector Committee of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters’ Association (DKİB), told an Anatolian Agency (AA) reporter that 14,358 tonnes of salmon were exported from the region to 15 countries.
Kuzuoğlu stated that this export generated 95,290,222 dollars in revenue, adding that Russia was the leading destination for salmon exports.
Highlighting that exports to Russia during this period amounted to 58,689,208 dollars, he said, “Russia was followed by Belarus with 26,829,736 dollars and Japan with 4,253,305 dollars. Exports were also made from the region to the Philippines, France, Lithuania and Lebanon during this period.”
Emphasizing that 68,449,357 dollars of the region’s exports originated from Trabzon province, he noted, “10,055 tonnes of Turkish salmon were sold from the region to 14 countries, primarily Russia.”
Kuzuoğlu indicated that expectations for salmon exports in the region and Trabzon are high and he believes that year-end export figures will reach much better levels…
