“FINANCING AND EXCHANGE RATE WILL BE THE KEY TO REACHING THE EXPORT TARGET”

Press release…

EIB Coordinator President Jak Eskinazi evaluated the export target in the MTP!

Evaluating the announced Medium Term Programme (MTP) targets, Jak Eskinazi, Coordinator President of the Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EIB), pointed out that in order to reach the export target of 302.2 billion dollars, it is necessary to remove the barriers for exporters to access financing and to have an increasing exchange rate policy in line with inflation.

Emphasising that the realisations of the Medium Term Programmes announced by Türkiye in the recent period remained far from the targets, Eskinazi said, “85 million Turkish people experienced a very difficult process after the transition to the Turkish economic model, which has no application worldwide. We will work with all our strength to achieve the targets in the Medium Term Programme shared with the public after the Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek said that a rational economic model has been adopted. Although 302.2 billion dollars is an ambitious target, Turkish exporters have the know-how and capability to reach these targets. If appropriate financing models are implemented for the continuation of production, we can achieve our export targets. When we meet our export targets, we make it easier for employment, growth, inflation, current account deficit and other targets to be met.”

Eskinazi underlined that the per capita income of 15 thousand dollars, 5 per cent inflation, 5 per cent growth and unemployment targets for 2026 are targets that will make 85 million Turkish people happy and concluded his words by stating that the economic staff should not face political intervention in order to achieve these targets…
