‘54 percent of November exports are tangerines, lemons and oranges’

Ferhat Gürüz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mediterranean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Association, announced that the Turkish fresh fruit and vegetable sector exported 360.6 million dollars in November.

Evaluating the performance of the Turkish fresh fruit and vegetable sector in November according to product groups, Chairman Ferhat Gürüz said, “In the 11th month of the year, we evaluated 418 thousand 917 tonnes of products in international markets. Tangerines, lemons and oranges took the first three places in the list of the most exported products of our sector. These three products accounted for 54 percent of our monthly export volume. We exported 100.4 million dollaars in tangerines, 48.3 million dollars in lemons and 33.6 million dollars in oranges. In this period, we achieved the strongest increases in export volume in potatoes, onions and oranges as well. We exported 8.5 million dollars worth of potatoes with an increase of 1,294 percent, 6.5 million dollars worth of onions with an increase of 221 percent and 33.6 million dollars worth of oranges with an increase of 50 percent.”

‘There is an improvement in unit prices in exports to Russia’

Highlighting that the Russian market continued to be the largest market in Türkiye’s fresh fruit and vegetable exports in November, Gürüz added, “An increase of 9 percent in value was achieved and there was an improvement in unit prices. Besides, exports soared in Saudi Arabia and Syria among the Middle East markets in November, while strong demands in Romania and Serbia stood out in the European market.”
